Chasing 132, Globstars raced to 135/4 in 16.5 overs, with captain Rohan S Kunnummal producing a sensational unbeaten-looking chase-defining innings of 94 off 47 balls.

Kunnummal takes charge

Having won the toss and elected to bowl, Globstars made early inroads into the Alleppey batting line-up.

Jalaj Saxena (2) and Sachin Baby (0) fell cheaply, while Mohammed Azharuddeen provided a brief burst with 12 off six balls.

Globstars continued to apply pressure through the middle overs. Akhil Scaria and Harikrishnan M U were particularly effective with the ball, while Ibnul Afthab and Vignesh Puthur also picked up wickets.

Alleppey found some momentum through Abhijith Praveen, who scored 24 off 26 balls, and Sibin P Gireesh, who struck 17 off 10.

At the other end, Ashiq Ali provided the biggest late push, smashing 33 off 17 balls, including four fours and a six. Alleppey were eventually bowled out for 131 in 19.3 overs.

Harikrishnan M U led the Globstars attack with an outstanding 3/12, while Akhil Scaria and Vignesh Puthur claimed two wickets apiece.

Kunnummal turns the chase into a statement

The chase belonged to Rohan S Kunnummal.

The Globstars captain took control from the outset, combining power with remarkable consistency as he dismantled the Alleppey attack.

Kunnummal smashed 94 off just 47 balls, clearing the ropes eight times and finding the boundary six times. His strike rate of 200.00 underlined the dominance of the innings.

Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, Globstars remained firmly ahead of the required rate throughout the chase.

Akhil Scaria provided valuable support with 31 not out off 30 balls, while Ashwin Anand and Abdul Basith made brief contributions.

Kunnummal's assault ensured the target was never allowed to become a serious challenge. Globstars reached 135/4 in 16.5 overs, completing a convincing six-wicket victory with 19 balls to spare.

The victory gives Globstars another important result in their KCL Season 3 campaign and further strengthens the momentum built over their recent matches.
