Calicut Globstars secured their first KCL Season 3 victory with a thrilling three-run win over Kochi Blue Tigers, defending 148/5 as Krishna Devan’s explosive 40* off 17 and a disciplined bowling effort sealed a dramatic finish.
Calicut Globstars secured a thrilling first victory of Kerala Cricket League Season 3, holding their nerve in a tense finish to defeat Kochi Blue Tigers by three runs at the Greenfield International Stadium.
After being asked to bat first, Globstars posted 148/5 in 20 overs, before a spirited bowling and fielding effort restricted Kochi to 145 all out in 19 overs.
Salman and Krishna provide the finishing flourish
Globstars built their innings around contributions through the batting order before producing a strong finish.
Varun Nayanar made a useful 22 off 21 balls, while Akhil Scaria contributed a composed 26 off 28 balls, helping Globstars build a platform through the middle overs.
The innings gathered momentum in spectacular fashion in the closing stages as Salman Nizar and Krishna Devan joined forces.
Salman remained unbeaten on 47 off 37 balls, striking two fours and two sixes. At the other end, Krishna produced a stunning counter-attacking innings, smashing an unbeaten 40 off just 17 balls.
